Evaluating the effectiveness of Javelin in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is not limited to counting the destroyed armor. Its impact has been much deeper, affecting the operational-tactical doctrine of the application of armored and tank troops.

The key advantage of Javelin, which determined its high effectiveness, is the "fire-and-forget" technology. After acquiring the target and launching the missile, the operator can immediately change position to avoid return fire. This dramatically increases the survival rate of the crew compared to systems requiring continuous guidance to the target until impact (such as the ATMS "Fagot" or "Concourse").

The second tactical breakthrough was the attack from above. Javelin strikes the target in its most vulnerable projection - the roof of the turret and hull, where the armor is usually much thinner. This makes the system highly effective against all types of modern Russian tanks, including those equipped with dynamic protection and active protection systems.
